Annie Levesque is a fine art painter from Quebec who draws on the human encounters experienced in daily life as the source of her creation.

Native of Riviere-du-Loup in the Lower St. Lawrence, she has adopted Quebec City as her creative home-base on account of its effervescent culture, both artistic and social. Her college studies in graphic design and the visual arts led her to complete the entrepreneurial stream of the Bachelor of Fine Arts with concentration in new media at Laval University in 2008. She has since earned a  certificate of professional studies in art and career management from local College and continues to develop her knowledge and skills by pursuing studies at the RAAV and the Cultural Council.

Annie Levesque receives a Grant and Scholarship recipient from Caisse populaire Desjardins de Quebec and an entrepreneurial grant recipient from Hydro-Quebec in 2007. She is permanently represented by Gallery Cartier in Montreal. She has also participated in several exhibitions including a solo exhibition at the art gallery of the Salle Albert-Rousseau in Quebec City in 2005.

Artist statement

The human encounter is my primary concern. In the manner of narrative paintings, I paint the moments that I share with people who fascinate me by their very presence.  >>>
